Size of Firmware Download?

I hope you don't mind me tagging you on this one - you've been super helpful previously.
I've been patiently waiting for the new firmware to download and but after quite a few days, I'm yet to see the red exclamation mark. I reset the NEEO Brain back to Factory defaults on Saturday 5th, as well as resetting my router back to factory defaults. I also turned off all firewalls on the router - in the hopes this would give me a 'clean run at it'. But now four days on (with my NEEO working perfectly) still no update.
I've included a couple of graphs from my router showing that between 5th and 8th of May, the NEEO Brain has downloaded 2.2 GB from Amazon (and continues to increase).
Additionally I've included screen-shots from the Amazon S3 Transfer Acceleration Speed Comparison site - as I know you guys use this information in your investigations.
My NEEO Hostname is: NEEO-10f1165f
Current Firmware: 0.48.35-94c15ad
I'm not concerned about the amount that's being downloaded, more that it seems to be taking such a long time to download. You can see from my speed tests that I've decent connection.
So I have two questions and one request;
What is the actual file size of the firmware that needs to be downloaded?
Can you see anything at your end that is preventing the firmware from downloading successfully to my NEEO host?
Could I request a feature for a future firmware release that we can 'download' the firmware from URL/FTP site and then manually initiate a firmware upgrade by uploading the firmware to the NEEO brain through either SSH or a web interface -- as opposed to having the NEEO Brain silently do the download in the background?
Thanks again for taking the time to read my post. I am really enjoying the NEEO experience and product and am excited to see how the features evolve as the product matures.

Andrew Wedding Hi Andrew! So sorry that I have not responded to this.
From what we have initially gathered is that that the update is timing out during the download vs before the download. Seems like the download is timing out after an hour too. I do not know the exact size of the firmware download, but once I have an answer I will follow up with you.
Clearly, the NEEO Brain sees the firmware download and keeps trying to download it, probably why you're seeing so much traffic. Can you confirm if the NEEO Brain is on WiFi or hardwired to your route?

Jeff I've just thought of something - the Brain was connected via a switch (as I'd run out of ports on the router). I've just connected it directly to the router.... I'll keep you posted as to whether this makes a difference.

Andrew Wedding Awesome, keep me posted and if for whatever reason that does not work try disconnecting it from ethernet and let me know if that changes anything.

Notwithstanding this - I'd still be curious to know the size of the firmware and also the ability to update via a web interface or ssh in a future release. -
Andrew Wedding Interesting. So we left the ethernet cable plugged into your router vs switch. Can you provide me with the make and model of the switch? I will do some research on that switch to see if it's unmanaged or managed.

Andrew Wedding Glad to here you got the update. Really interesting, let us know what you find out, we can sure learn something from that case. Maybe you got also do some speed comparisons with another device going over you Switch and directly over the router.
A firmware update is usually a little over 200MB, this includes both firmwares for the NEEO Brain and the NEEO Remote. The NEEO Remote downloads its firmware from the NEEO Brain and not directly from the servers.
