How do i know if this driver uses ir, bluetooth or ethernet to control the set-top box? The original remote is bluetooth.

Tord Solheim for each device you are adding you are a device specific screen with instructions. The largest number of consumer electronic products are infrared controlled so you will see the sort of “how to place your brain” screen. If you add some IP device such as Philips HUE as example that screen will provide you with Philips Hue specific instructions. So basically that instruction screen will tell you what to do in oder to control it. If any pairing, wiring or such needed that’s talked about on that screen. Hope this helps. Happy weekend

The Q22 uses primarily Bluetooth, but it also receive and accept IR. It works great for me. Only negative issue is that it is a "stupid" device where power is toggled, and not separate commands for on and off.

We may be able to smarten up your device. Is there any command that powers on the device besides power toggle?
Also, we are working on a solution for "stupid" devices. I have already seen working prototypes.

Under the device list on my app, i cannot find any info like you are describing.
Even thought my set-top box (Huawei q22) and my TV (samsung ue55ks7005) uses bluetooth remotes, both neeo drivers are using ir commands. The way my equipment is placed in my media cabinet, it would be preferable with ethernet or bluetooth drivers. (ir extender goes outside my cabinet)
In fact, I think all drivers should be made with the best possible communication, like 1. Ethernet, 2. Bluetooth, 3. rs-232, 4. IR. IR should be last resort, as it is the simplest and least reliable communication.
Is there any chance Andy would make a bluetooth driver for these devices?

Tord Solheim and Andy , I know for a fact the the Q22 support standard HID Bluetooth devices, but I have never tested it. I do have a document describing the IR and BLE commands for the Huawei Q22 STB. However, I do not want to post it here. Andy I could mail it to you or something.
