New Canal-Plus DVB receiver support

Hi, Canal-plus (french DVB provider) has launched in january a new receiver. The remote uses bluetooth, but the receiver can also receive IR commands.

Could you add this new device ?

You can find some informations here (in french) : http://communaute-espaceclient.canal-plus.com/questions/1551857-groupe-canal-lance-nouveau-decodeur-4k-uhd

And about the IR codes here : http://communaute-espaceclient.canal-plus.com/questions/1554369-liste-codes-infrarouges-piloter-decodeur-canal-telecommande-universelle

As the remote manage bluetooth, it would be great to support this receiver using bluetooth to avoid stupid device problems...

Regards

Nicolas

  • Hello Nicolas Philippe thank you for your post.

Would you be able to give me the manufacturer of the "Canal+ DVB receiver" and the model number as well? I will then submit your device request to the team.

    Thank you for your feedback.

  • The model number is : G9STEC1

The manufacturer is : CanalPlus. I guess they don't make it by themselves, but this is designed specifically by (and for) CanalPlus.

  • Technicolor is the manufacturer. But this is not a standard model. It is specially build for CanalPlus.

We have just added your device! Please let know if something doesn't work. The new device comes up around 6PM CET. Thanks!

  • @Andy, thank you. Any hope for a bluetooth support ? After @Raphaël discusses about stupid devices, i thought it would be your prefered way to communicate with a device.

If you keep the stupid device way to manage this device, i have a problem  : the power toggle button does work on the neeo test screen, but when using the recipe, it does not work (the big touchscreen button to power off manually). It could be useful for other users. Personnally, i won't use neeo as soon as there is a stupid device in my configuration. I'll wait to see what's coming up with the next release.

The next firmware release will contain a completely new power handling. I think you will be happy with it.
That the power toggle screen doesn't work is not normal. Does the power toggle command work as a shortcut?

  • In the "Add device" screens, when i'm at the TEST step with the screen "Hit the buttons !".

    The POWER ON/OFF button works.

I tried to add a shortcut (POWER TOGGLE) but it doesn't work (iPhone or remote same result).

Thank you about the good news. Can't wait about the new release.

This is very strange. We enter a command into a specific source - no matter if it was added as shortcut, is part of the recipe or located on the test screen, it is always taken from the same and only source. Anyway, I have created a Live IR Test where you can test the very same command.

The Live IR Test works the following way:

      1. Navigate to the Settings Menu in your NEEO app.
      2. Navigate to NEEO Brain.
      3. Click on "Live IR Test".
      4. Enter into the text field the following code: gT3w52zpTE
      5. Test the commands

      Thanks for testing!

  • @Andy The test command  did work (i tried twice). I tried another time the POWER TOGGLE from the recipe and it didn't work. After that, i did try to delete the device, the auto created recipe was also deleted. I also deleted a manual recipe i did create after i told you i had a problem. I started again by adding the device. It did create a recipe and after that, i tried again the power button. It did work as expected... I don't understand what happen the first time (or what i have done). It now works well. Every is ok. I just have to wait the next firmware update for the stupid device thing. Thanks a lot for your support (third device for my ;) ).
