My first impression of Neeo
As I pre-ordered and took over a KS pledge I received my Neeo’s only recently. Till receiving the units I spend quite some time on Planet Neeo and prepared for the ‘worst’.
Now I am an active user of Neeo and in one word I think it is a fantastic product. Coming from a Harmony One which I used for many years I needed to clear my head to understand the way recipes are build in Neeo. At first I had my doubts about the lack of hard buttons but in every day use I must admit that I don’t miss them that much (except maybe for rewind - play/pause - forward button).
My equipment is very responsive to the IR commands and the IR extender is a major improvement compared to my previously used Marmitek IR extender.
Recipe building is a pleasure and provides quite exciting possibilties and I am looking forward to future firmware updates enabling more functionality.
As with any other product there is always room for improvement but I think Neeo delivered an outstanding product.

Same experience here - after figuring out NEEO logic, literally tossed my Harmony in the trash. Never regretted it.

Those are great comments guys. Thanks. Often people ask for help and it gives the wrong impression that NEEO only has problems. But we don’t hear enough from users who are happily trashing their Harmonys.

Paul Spee To keep it balanced and in perspective, I recall reading a few comments on Planet NEEO where people have chosen the Harmony over the NEEO, and the NEEO has been shelved indefinitely. I’m sure those people would prefer to be using their NEEO, and hope that will be a reality in the near future. We can all see the NEEO team are striving for this.

Dillon Moulder I read these comments as well and too so me extend I can understand why people put aside their Neeo for the time being. That said, I was prepared for the ‘worst’ and have not experienced the earlier firmware/software versions. My first impression might have been different then.
Trust me that I would like to see changes as well. A fantastic product is not the same as a perfect product. From reading some comments I think some people expected a perfect product of which IMO not many exist and is quite subjective. My general comment/recommendation would be to go in open minded, accept that there will be flaws but that there is work in progress. We should move on and forget whatever may be promised in KS campaign and look forward and help Neeo moving forward (which will be beneficial for us well).

Can you fast forward and rewind on the remote for DVR, etc?
