Migrating a vera z-wave controller to Neeo

Hi folks,

I have a Vera Edge controller with quite a bunch of sensors and switches but I'm not quite happy with the stability issues of the Vera and would like - at least to give a try - to migrate my actual z-wave network on to the Neeo brain.

Would that be possible ?

Any one got an idea how to proceed ?

Thanks.

Gilles

p.s. still investigating. I will post an update if I can find a solution.

    Hi Gilles!

Thanks for reaching out! The NEEO Brain can totally act as a Z-Wave controller and a secondary controller. You can do this by following these steps:

Go to the settings in the NEEO App > then go to NEEO Brain > then choose "Z-Wave Actions".  Put your Vera Edge Controller into learning/inclusion mode. After doing so you will need to choose "Include in existing network".

Follow these steps and let me know the outcome!

    Best,

    Jeff Z

If I understand Gilles correctly, he would like to do a primary controller shift.

Paul Spee the final goal would be to be able to use the z-wave sensors and switches in Neeo Receipes.

  • Gilles Burnier Keep in mind, actually you can't display any sensor data with NEEO.

  • How did you get on? I have tried to do the above but nothing happens...

Steve Grant no success as of today, but had no time to investigate any further

  • Just included my Neeo into my Vera network. It isn't showing any devices yet on neeo.. It may just be slow, the vera's aren't all that fast. I am hoping I can get rid of the vera one day. Are there any other alternatives that show power usage etc..

  • Sorry forgot to add, I am also seeing "Please wait! Getting secure classes" on the vera.. It has been like this for about 10 minutes.

  • Devices are slowly showing up in the list, unfortunately they all come up as the same name (the actual z-wave device) is there a way for you to suck down the device name that is associated with it in vera?

  • How do you set Vera into learing/inclusion mode? I have tried with Selecting Add device -> Generic z-wave device. But NEEO doesn't seem to find anything and neither Vera does something but search, what am I doing wrong?

Damian Alarcón Try using the physical Sync button on the Vera Edge unit. Inclusion mode is started by pressing it once briefly, exclusion mode when pressed >3 seconds.

This way I added all my zwave components to Neeo.

Please be aware that currently you cannot assign a zwave device to a room, they will all be in one room.
