Can't connect to WiFi with special characters in SSID

The title pretty much sums it up ;)

I have some special characters in my WiFi SSID and therefore the brain won't connect to my WiFi.

  • Rouven Schmidt And the Network is for sure a 2,4GHz Network and not a 5GHz?

If so it is an interesting name, but why don't you Type it just AnDerOelmuehle?

  • Markus Mahr , I could do that but then all other wireless devices will lose their network connectivity and I would have to reconfigure them all.

    Yes, it's a 2,4Ghz network.

    • Rouven Schmidt I don't want to force you to do this, but i was curiouse why you choose this as your SSID it is very unusual. I'm sure Patrick will come over and type about it. Also he will ask the Engineers if this should work in general or if it is an Bug.

    • Markus Mahr Looking back it was not the smartest decision to use special characters. But over the years I connected so many devices to the network that I am just too lazy to change the SSID. ;)

  • I have checked with our engineers, unfortunately, I have to confirm that this is a reproducible bug. It should be fixed with one of the very next releases, but as for the moment, I can not provide a workaround.

All my 3 SSID's won't even show up on the brain :) (guess which are mine) please make sure to include the extra special characters as well <3

    • Remko That is awesome! Haha. I'm actually very tempted to use one of these for my guest network. Thanks for sharing!
