Z-wave failing for all devices I try to add
So I am getting nowhere with zwave.
I have now tried the following devices:
- 3 different Fibaro wall plugs (2 older and one 5th generation)
- 2 different TKB TZ68 socket switch
- Fibaro motion sensor
- Telldus TZWP-100 Plug-in Switch
Every single one gets added as an "unknown" device and only gives the possibility to control on/off. But nothing happens when trying to use the shorcuts created with these devices.
All devices are listed under unavailable devices in the z-wave settings.
I cannot remove them manually in those settings and I cannot exclude them.
I have tried several times to reset z-wave in the brain and then reseting the devices. Same thing just repeats again and they are addes as "unknown".
I have tried again and again and its always the same.
I have included screenshots from my trials from last night when I tried adding the Telldus TZWP-100. First time it gets included as an "unknown" and then after reset it gets added as "unknown" again.
My reason for getting Neeo was to control everything in the house and it will be the main z-wave controller. I have no other z-wave controllers.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Also having problems with Z-wave. Not as huge problem as you though. I have successfully added Fibaro Wall plugs, the older models, FGWPF-102-) and a dimmer (Everspring). But the newer Fibaro Gen5 models fail (see https://planet.neeo.com/t/h4kkt2/fibaro-wall-plug) and also failing on outdoor switch Popp 009105 and I have an open case with Neeo regarding this.
In general, it seems like Z-wave at the moment is quite unreliable. I guess what we mainly can do is to post in this forum and also let firstname.lastname@example.org know.Reply
My point in this thread is more that NEEO support for a specific device is often more than yes (supported) or no (not supported).
Without actually owning the device and be able to test it with NEEO, it is almost impossible to known if a device is fully supported or only partially.
Saying that I'm really impressed how fast NEEO is adding and enhancing drivers.Reply
It´s nice to see a lot of actiivity here in this thread. It would be even nicer if I could get any response to the actual thread post.
Any ideas at all on what I can do to test further?
Do you want me to start one thread per device? It seems more of a general failure since I cannot get any z-wave device to work at all.Reply
I see that this thread got away from you, we apologize and this was not intentional. I have reached out to our team so they can replicate this issue. I own a couple Linear Zinc lightbulbs and they work fine when I add them. I know Michael Kohler has a Fibaro sensor and he does not get this issue. Once we are able to replicate it we will get a fix going :).
In the interim, can you send me the following via DM:
Make and model of your router:
NEEO-hostname: (Found in the about section)
Also, have you tried unplugging the NEEO Brain from power and then plugging it back in?
Also having problems with zwave as Pontus. At first I thought it was related to two new fibaro devices I bought, but reading this thread I can see the problem is deeper.
I have a roller shutter 2 and a double switch 2, both brand new, tree days old. Always recognized as unknown. Latter on they appear in the list of devices as what they are, but always as disconnected, and unable to control them, and the unkown devices still remain. I did a lot of zwave controller resets and one brain factory reset, but without luck.
I have to say that Neeo is a great product, I am able to control everything I have at home using IR. But zwave needs a little more love from the developers, or at least related to fibaro system.
Similar issues with Devolo device. It is a supported device.
Tired to add\remove it several times. Couple of times it failed to add and showed up under unavailable (offline) devices, but device was actually included in network. Next time it was added as unknown device but was not usable at all.
I’m having a similar issue with trying to control a z-wave light bulb. Always adds as unknown device, and offline.
I don’t mind that this device needs polish, and that it is a work in progress.
What im looking for, and I think what everyone wants, is a centralized black box that can do it all. Be simple for any user to use, but also highly customizable.
This was accomplished with the Philips TSU series over 10 years ago. I was able to control all my devices, make macros and custom screens and control X-10 lights. I can’t figure out for the life of me why this can’t be reproduced, or why Philips got out of the market. Probably not making enough money, but now, more than ever, people are looking to expand home automation and with Amazon Alexa and others, the opportunities are big.
Now is the opportunity for Neeo to crush it. But if it can’t get off the ground, I have a nice paper weight, and will be forced to go another route.
There’s nothing worse for customers than over promise and under deliver. Where you make raving fans that are behind you is where you hit the ball out of the park and crush expectations.Reply
I am having the same problems as I can't get brain z-wave working. Can't add a device. I just got z-wave controller and everything work just fine. Then I tried to add Neeo as second controller and guess what? Nothing...
I was asked to reset Brain z-wave controller twice and when it didn't work there is a silence ...
Ignoring me Jeff ?Reply
Jeff Hi Jeff, I am looking for a solution to controll TV lifts with NEEO. I need two relays. I thought about adding Fibaro but the drivers aren't able to control both relays in a switch. Qubino came up and this may be a solution for me. The Qubino shutter controller would be perfect as I need one relay for close and one for open. Do you need any other interfaces to set up the Qubino or would NEEO talk to the Qubino switch directly? is the drivers fully functional?Reply
no, Emmanuel , I need a dual relay. or at least a SPDT relay. I'm not simply switching on or off something. The application requires a pulse/contact from common to one pole for "open" and a pulse/contact to another pole to "close" my TV lift. So if the relay is only SPST, like you explained, it will not work.Reply
Wow, wish I'd read all of this before spending my money on a NEEO and some expensive z-wave plugs. One year after the original post I am now experiencing all these z-wave issues listed - very saddening - might have to ask for a refund on my NEEO as they have obviously done absolutely nothing to fix this :-( How sad...Reply
