Control Samsung TVs through Wifi
Is there a way to control Samsung TVs through Wifi?
There are some phone apps that allow you to do this, such as this one: https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/mytifi-remote-for-samsung-tv/id441912305?mt=8
There are others too, Samsung even has this listed: https://www.samsung.com/us/apps/smart-view-2/
This would be nice to be able to do when you have the same TV in the same room, think a bar setup.

Andrew this depends very much on what kind of Samsung TV model you own. In the older models, you basically have the problem that the TV cannot be turned on via WLAN, that is only possible via IR. Therefore, you have to use for remote control a mixed mode between IR and network control to be able to control most of the Samsung TV models.
For older Samsung models you can have a look at
Newer models based on tizen can be controlled via a homeautomation system and websockets or you could write a driver for controlling the tv via websockets. Newer models can also be waked up via WOL.
