  • I'm actually surprised this hasn't been done already.

  • Well, actually this was a stretch goal at the Kickstarter campaign.

      Aerni Mario Exactly! NEEO needs to respond to this. Very disappointed

    • Brian Lui  I agree that IFTTT integration was a big selling point in making other parts of my home play nice.....such as Alexa, Lutron Caseta light switches, WEMO switches, to name a few.....  I've glanced at the places where you get into using code to get the NEEO Brain to play nice.... I don't want to have to go through all that and potentially screw up my NEEO... I just want it to play nice right out of the box the way it was presented!  Love having my NEEO, it arrived today and I'm learning to set up recipies, however, I have run in to more walls than open doors so far if you catch my drift!!!!

    • Brian Habegger I'm sure you'll see ifttt at some point, when the foundation of the product is rock solid then I think they are going to introduce/enable more features.

  • I hope someone from NEEO comments on this soon.

  • 7 months ago, in response to Niel's long list of queries, Raphael did confirm that NEEO would be able to connect to IFTTT.

  • What would you guys see happening through IFTTT.

    Would it be so that with the remote you could control things through IFTTT

    or

    Using IFTTT you could control things that your Neeo brain is controlling?

    I would imagine that using IFTTT to control things that the brain could control would be possible using API calls, although you would probably need to open the Brain to the internet through your router, which might not be the wisest idea??

      Personally, it would be the latter use,  i.e. using IFTTT to trigger NEEO recipes. I have purchased smart buttons that have their own IFTTT channels. The idea is to place these strategically around the house to trigger scenes (recipes). devices the number of iOT devices grow and have their own IFTTT channels, it would awesome for users to allow NEEO to control these. I think I understand what u mean by opening up NEO to the internet as not being the wisest move, but would there be another way around this challenge?

    • For me it's the former. I want a recipe to be able to trigger things on IFTTT. That would allow me to control my Lutron motorized blinds and run some of 100+ automations that I already have running within SmartThings.

      I know NEEO can act a secondary Z-Wave controller, but my Z-Wave mesh is pretty flaky for me already on a single controller, I don't want to mess with it  more than I need too.

    • Bruce Hartley What I really just need right now is the ability to call any URL as part of a recipe.  That way I could use an IFTTT Webhook to trigger whatever else I need that is not directly supported by NEEO.  Is there already a way to call a URL that I'm unaware of?

    • Ian Delisle There could be something in the "Forward brain events" bit where you could possibly fudge an IFTTT call.  I'll have a play in the next day or so.

    • Bruce Hartley yeah, IFTTT talks to the Brain and tells it what to do. so the trigger can be Alexa, Google Home, or what ever. it talks to IFTTT and then IFTTT talks to the Brain and the brain runs what ever action you tell it to. (example: "turn on the TV" google->IFTTT->NEEO Brain turns tv on, sets input to HDMI 2 for the cable box, turns the Cable box on, turn amp on for volume, etc.)

  • What smart buttons do you have ?

    flic?

    if your buttons can be made to call Ann http:// address then you can make them talk to NEEO directly.

    This would avoid the delay you get if you do it via ifttt.

      Unfortunately, qmote needs to communicate with its own app or IFTTT

    • Brian Lui I guess you could use the ifttt maker channel to control Neeo through the API. But you would need to open your neeo to the internet and as it doesn't currently have any security as such, you would be opening control of your house to the world.  Can't imagine that would be recommended.

  • Just a quick note - if you run openHAB or Homey, you could use my openHAB stuff or Niels de Klerk homey plugins to integrate IFTTT into NEEO stuff and vice-versa..

    • Tim Roberts But that is a really annoying way to trigger ifttt stuff.

      neeo -> openhab -> ifttt

      iftt-> openhab -> neeo

      neeo needs a generic way to trigger webhooks or to be triggered via webhooks.

      I don't disagree.  I was just stating you can do it now if you wanted to.

    Is there any vague eta on the ifttt integration yet?

  • I would really love an update on this too. I hate relying on IFTTT, but it is a great (hopefully) temporary measure for any devices not currently accessible with NEEO. I have a few through SmartThings set up the same way.

    I use a SwitchBot button pusher to ring the buzzer on my building door and RealitySwitchs for multiple lights, and an iHome smart plug for an air conditioner. All of these devices are ones that NEEO hasn't added and there doesn't seem to be much interest in from the NEEO community, so I don't think they will be added anytime soon.

    I currently can use IFTTT to link them all, so would like a way to set up a dummy button/switch/(any device type) on NEEO to then link through IFTTT to whatever is needed. I already do this in both SmartThings and HomeKit (with the help of HomeBridge).

  • Guys just an Update:

    We are still working on IFTTT, but this should be supported in the next few firmware releases

    This is what i've got from the Support, so just wait a little more for it to be implemented.
