Dimming Neeo's screen

Is there a way to dimm the display on the neeo remote?

I find it way too bright for my home theatre.

  • Patrick this topic should be moved to the Feature Voting section!

  • I have dimming of the remote in the Idea Voting section at https://planet.neeo.com/t/x1flg1/remote-dimming-brightness-control

I also have a feature request to allow dimming of the Brain's front white LED. Next to an Apple TV 4 it appears the Neeo Brain LED is many times brighter than ATV. Unfortunately this isn't ideal for a device used in a dark room. https://planet.neeo.com/t/h4flgj/brain-led-brightness-control

I find it fascinating that this hasn't been thought of before neeo was released... I mean there were countless delays because of minor stuff, but nobody thought to include this feature along with the ability to learn IR commands. Boggles the mind.

  • Patrick On my first day of using the Neeo now that I can control my ShieldTV, I found the bright screen extremely annoying in my darkened room.

Is there no way to dim it? Or to turn the display off a whole lot quicker?

I ended up having to place it face-down on my leg.

Yeah, I've been placing the remote face down too. Also planning on sticking some black electrical tape on the brain's LED.

Last night my wife told me to "put that thing away" when it lit up the ceiling in our dark room.

The screen is WAY too bright and stays on WAY too long.

Patrick Is someone working on this?

Ingo The brightness of the screen is being worked on, however, I can not yet tell you when this is ready for release.

    • Patrick I have the opposite right now. I do not want the display to dim while fast-forwarding or rewinding - I need to stop but can’t because the screen went black while I was forwarding

  • Patrick  I assume this didn't make it in the last firmware release?
