Device input labeling wrong

I've added all of the devices that come close to 'Yamaha RX-A720', but none of them have an HDMI1, HDMI2, etc...   The closest one that works already has its inputs labeled, like 'Input TV', 'Input xx'.  But that doesn't match my wiring setup and I really don't want to setup a bunch of recipes with misleading titles.

Help!?    Is this the proper spot to report device issues like this?

Thanks

PS - Very excited to finally have a NEEO device in my home!!

I may be wrong, but I don't think Yamaha has any "HDMI" labeled inputs, at least not the high end models. Because inputs, whether it is HDMI,  component, or composite, can be mapped, the inputs may be labeled AV1, AV2, etc. It may be different on your model.

  • My model is one of the Aventage higher end equip. But there certainly are 5 HDMI inputs you can scroll through. Plus 6 AV inputs and finally a front side HDMI aux-in.

I am able to rename the HDMI inputs. But they still belong and display in the corner as HDMIx

  • Rick Rollins Thanks for reporting that, and yes, that is the right way to go. It helps a lot to keep thing s clear and cleaned up if a single thread is not handling a lot of devices issues.

Did I get that right that the commands are working and just the label is wrong? We do usually use the official names from the IR code sets that we get from manufacturers.

I will have our device driver team check on that. in the meantime, could you maybe check or take o picture of the labeling on the actual device?

  • Here's a pic of the back of the unit. HDMI are circled with #5.  The AV inputs are in the lower left with a designation #7. As I mentioned before, scrolling through the inputs on the front side, the display shows HDMI1 -> HDMI5, then AV1 -> AV6.  Of course I can apply a custom name to those inputs, but the HDMI number is still shown.

Thanks for looking in to this. Hope CEDIA turns out to be a great show for ya!!

Oops. That was a dumb question from me. I meant the original remote that came with the device.

Many thanks for your feedback! This should be fixed. Please update your device. If this doesn't fix it. Try re-adding the device. Thanks!
