Monoprice HRM-2218F HDMI 8x1 Switch Inputs Not Working

The Monoprice HRM-2218F HDMI 8x1 Switch can be added to NEEO and the Power On/Off controls work; however, the Inputs are not working. This is the main use of an HDMI Switch, so could you please correct the IR signals for Inputs 1-8? It also has a scroll left or right function on the IR remote, but this is minor compared to the direct IR commands for specific HDMI ports 1-8. This is really essential for replacing all other remotes' functions for me as I have three of these.

  • Thanks for the feedback. I will have our device driver team check on that, they'll let you know once that is ready for testing if it is possible.

    • Patrick thanks a lot! Loving my NEEO and this would be one of the last integral devices for my setup!

  • Patrick if it helps, here are some pictures. I also tested and the inputs on the remote will not turn it on without first turning on power, but  the device could be considered always on as it starts up whenever it is plugged in and doesn’t need to be turned off. It would be great if the only main controls were the eight inputs and the power was an optional control.

Please let me know if there is anything else I can provide to help!

    • Andy also did you mark it as always on? That would help a lot I think.

      Hi again,

No I didn't. But I marked it just now as Always on. Unfortunately, it will not be updated for another couple of hours. You may have to update the device again on 1PM CET. I'm sorry!

    • Andy Thanks, it worked great for the HDMI inputs! I'll test it tomorrow morning for the always on. One thing I noticed though is that there are 10 possible inputs. The device only has 8. Is that intended, or is that an issue?

      Glade to hear!

So, HDMI 9 & 10 doesn't do anything? I just want to be 100% sure before I'm going to delete them.

    • Andy thanks for all your work so far! Seems like you never sleep haha!

I haven't tested the always on yet and will try in the morning before work, but to answer your question there are only inputs 1-8. 9 and 10 shouldn't exist as it is an 8x1 switch. The only controls this device should need are direct inputs for 1 through 8. Even the input scroll is useless as NEEO will jump to the appropriate one directly.

      Thanks again!

    • Tyler Pruce Always on is much better! And just to confirm, inputs 9and 10 can still be removed.

Tyler Pruce We do everything possible to get things fixed as quickly as possible, including shortening our sleep time to a minium 😉

For testing the always-on function, please make sure you remove and re-add the device so that your recipes get created correctly.

Andy will remove the unneeded commands.

    Hi again,

We have marked it as always on. You can update your device according to this guide: https://planet.neeo.com/t/h4td07/howto-update-a-device

Regarding the inputs - I have deleted them just now. The new data will appear around 1PM CET. There is another device update needed in order to remove them from your NEEO.

    Thanks!
