Telus Arriss 5662W

I found this driver, and have added it, and am now trying to make its recipe work. I have POWER ON, OFF and TOGGLE options, but only toggle works.

When I edit the device (Settings > Devices > ...) I don't see any option to change power mode or re-run device smartener.  Does this driver just need an update?  Thanks.

  • Edward Zwart Hi, thanks for your request.
Do I understand correctly, that you have tried to add this both devices and none of their commands are working, except Power Toggle?

Ingrid I started with the Arris VIP5662W driver, since that is the model information on my device. None of the commands worked for it.

But then I found the Telus 5662W driver, and since Telus is my provider, I tried it.  POWER ON does not work. POWER TOGGLE does, and I just checked, and POWER OFF actually does too.

Many thanks for your feedback! Your device doesn't support discrete power commands. In order to smarten it up, we added a workaround that powers the device on with sending a DIGIT command. In order to work, you have to activate "Power with Numbered button" somewhere in the settings of the Telus device. If this isn't any option for this device, we'll find another way to fix this for you. By the way, which provider do you use?

Andy Telus Optik.  I'll look for the setting and report back. Thanks.

Andy No "power with numbered button" unfortunately.

Okay, thanks for looking into it. I have now added a new version for you. It's called "Telus VIP5662W (Alt. Power)". This version will come up as "Not-so-smart" as it does contain the POWER TOGGLE only. But if you choose the assumption mode, all should be fine for you.
The new device appears around 6PM CET. Thanks!
