GoControl / LinearLinc LB60Z-1

Unable to control the GoControl LB60Z-1.

Steps Taken:

1. Go to Settings, Devices

2. Add device, type in LB60Z-1.  Found by Neeo in the list of supported devices

3. Pressed "Include Device" on the app

4. pressed the top button on the Brain

5. Turned the Light on.

6. Device was added as "Unknown Device" with address CA3C108E:6, Also, Light Blinked twice as indicated in the bulb manual as added to a network

7. I added shortcut actions to my recipe.  Shortcuts added: Slider and Toggle - neither work

I did this about 3 times with the same result, seemingly added to the Brain (which is the only zwave controller (primary) I have.

The documentation for adding z-wave devices could be more in-depth, I wasn't sure if I am supposed to press the button on the top of the brain first or the button in the app.

Please Advise.

  • Richard McLane I believe Patrick is the best one to answer this. He is currently in a plane to Las Vegas for the CES tradeshow. I’m sure he will get back to you when he is in front of a computer again. Thanks!

Did you add any other devices that were added as "Unknown"? If not, it should be fairly easy for me to check the logs to see if our device data matches what you tried to add. Could you tell me your host name? You can find this in the "About" section in the app.

You don't need to press the button on the top of the brain. Most devices have a button on them that initiates the pairing mode. That's what the "button pressing" refers to. I agree though that the illustration looks like a brain ;)

  • Could you also send me (Direct Message) the output you get when opening IP:3000/projects/home in your browser? (The "IP" needs to be replaced by the IP you can find in the About section of the app).

Does the device by any chance show up in Settings -> NEEO Brain -> Z-Wave Actions -> Show unavailable devices?

  • when I try and direct message you, the message doesn't go through (may be too big).  is there an email address I can sent to?

The device shows up in "Offline devices - Plugged in?"

Thanks for the info. This explains the not working shortcuts then. This also means I won't need the output of the project configuration, so no worries about that.

Looks like the Bulb can't be correctly initialized and queried after the inclusion at some point. Could you please remove the device again, reset it and then try the inclusion again? If it still shows up in the "Offline devices" after 15 minutes after inclusion, could you please turn on the lamp manually and wait another 15 minutes and check again?

    • Michael Kohler same problem,  still goes through the inclusion process, Neeo app says device was added as "unknown" and listed under "offline devices - Plugged in?"

Third time is a charm.  Here is the story.

Received Brain 1.  It would, as I mentioned show the Z-wave Bulb as included, but would show as unknown on the brain, and wouldn't function

Jeff sent me Brain 2 in the mail.  I attempted to connect the bulb to the brain, but the app would fail the inclusion process immediately.

Then Jeff sent me Brain 3.  Attempted to get it to include the bulb, and it failed in the inclusion process (on my IPhone 7+). So I tried to reinstall the app, same results.  I then attempted the inclusion on my son's ipad and it worked correctly, and bulb works!!!!

I then thought perhaps that Brain 2 needed to be tried for zwave inclusion from the ipad, but it also failed immediately

Brain 1 = Inclusion process works from APP, but devices show as unknown

Brain 2 = app inclusion fails immediately on all mobile devices

Brain 3 = app inclusion failed on iPhone, but then worked on ipad.

Hope this helps improve the software side.

    • Michael Kohler iOS on 7+ is 11.2.5, but it also did a software update, in the last few days.

iOS on the iPad is also 11.2.5.
