HDMI INPUT buttons for Philips 49PUS7502/12 not working

The INPUT Buttons for the HDMI inputs do not work for the 49PUS7502/12 recipe. Switching via the Philips remote works fine but the NEEO commands have no effect.

Many thanks for your feedback! The original remote is 433Mhz RF (which NEEO doesn't support), not infrared. Now the problem is, that most 2015+ Philips TVs don't support discrete input commands via infrared anymore. It's marked as input stupid now. This way at least you can manually choose the correct input. The good news is that you'll at least be able to get rid of the stupid power screen very soon. We'll implement a workaround that may come within the next firmware release.

  • Oof, that is horrible! My previous TV (48PUS7600) could still do that.

And HDMI CEC/Easylink is not enabled yet, right? I suppose that would allow me to chose the correct HDMI input.

I only have one HDMI device plugged in though, is there at least a way to switch to the first available (HDMI) input?

Yes, please update your device. From then on you'll have a "Stupid input" device screen where you will have a INPUT SCROLL command. With this you can toggle to the correct input. Also, you may be able to add this automated to the recipe steps. E.g. 3x INPUT SCROLL or whatever macro leads to the desired input.

    • Andy would have been great if that would have worked! Unfortunately, INPUT SCROLL on this device does the same thing as the Sources List button on the remote: it opens an overlay that shows the available input sources. Pressing the button multiple times just toggles the overlay.

How far along is the HDMI CEC feature? I guess that will be the only real solution for many of us.

I was not aware of that. But that's no problem. We have a mechanism for this. It's changed now. The new data appears around 1PM CET. Please update your device according to this guide. Thanks!

    • Andy very interesting! That seems to do nothing though 🤔

    • Andy I’m on Version 19 of the TV driver/recipe and the INPUT SCROLL command still just opens the menu.

Can you please as test add the TV a second time? If it works there, please reset the wiring of the original TV. If this doesn't fix it, try to re-add the device. Thanks!

    • Andy both steps did not fix it, it still only opens the sources menu (same as the sources button on the original remote). The newly added device does have different button options though (i.e. there is no INPUT HDMI X any more).

I just learned that this feature may be implemented on the database side, but not the software side. I have to check this. I'll let you know.

Is this still happening? There where several software updates on Philips' side that could have fixed this and even added new discrete input functions. Also, check on NEEO for an update. Thanks!

    • Andy thanks for following up :) The issue (and all others) went away with the Device Smartener / HDMI CEC!
