Anthem AVM 60 delays

Hi,

Patrick

I am having ongoing issues with switching inputs on my AVM 60. It appears as if the delay after the device is switched on and before the input is selected is too short. More often than not when I start a recipe the AVM 60 starts up on whatever the last used input was, rather than changing to whatever it is I selected from Neeo.

Sometimes I need to select the activity on the Neeo a second or third time before the input changes. I don't know why but even when selecting the same recipe more than once in sequence the Neeo still goes through the long process of turning on the TV instead of just changing the input on the AVM 60 as it is advertised to do. This makes Neeo quite sluggish feeling when I wish to select a different recipe even after everything is powered up and working correctly.

Another annoyance I sometimes get is that the TV does not power on and then I have to power off all the recipes and wait ages before starting a recipe to get the TV to come on. If I am the slightest bit impatient things get all out of sync and I can take minutes to get to watch a recipe.

The Brain is in a shelf my AV cupboard above the AVM 60. The IR blaster is on a shelf behind and above the MLP and is completely unobstructed to the TV (LG OLED 65E6).

I feel the AVM 60 is probably the issue here as i had things running fairly well previously with a Denon Receiver. Hopefully you can help.

Thanks,

Adam

    Many thanks for your feedback!

Please let me know the following delays:

    - How long does the AVR take to power on until it can switch to any input
    - How long does the device take to power off until it can be turned on again
    - How long does it take to switch an input until it can be switched to any other input

Also, you could add the power command of the TV to the shortcut screen. In case it fails anyway, you can turn it on without having to to turn off and on the recipe. Also, the input command could be added to the shortcut screen. But if course this is not the idea and the automation should work without this.

    Thanks for the reply.

The answers below are not exact but hopefully will help.

    - How long does the AVR take to power on until it can switch to any input.
    6-7 seconds
    - How long does the device take to power off until it can be turned on again.
    Immediate, 1 second max
    - How long does it take to switch an input until it can be switched to any other input.
    Immediate, 2 second max

There is maybe 2-3 second HDMI lock on between TV and AVM 60 when switching to some inputs (PC for instance) which probably makes some of the real-world delays seem worse than they actually are.

    Thanks,

    Adam

      Thanks!

I've updated the delays! The new data will appear around 1PM CET. If you see the new delays not listed inside the recipe after updating, try re-adding the device.

      Thanks!

  • Hi Andy, thanks for doing that.

Will it show up as a a new version of the device? i.e v18 Or is it simply a change in the default delays? Thanks.

As the version is raised with changes inside the infrared command data, I think the version will not raise. But you should see raised and changed delays in the recipe. To be 100% sure, I would recommend to re-add the device.
