Internet Radio (Denon AVR-X5200W)
Niels de Klerk I placed this under recipes as i think it's not related to just one specific (Denon) device. I watched your great demo-video. You present your Receiver's Internet Radio Stations that are all displayed as neat little icons on the neeo remote. I tried to create a recipe for my denon and set the input to 'internet radio' as well as 'show denon controls'. but instead of my stations or anything related to Internet Radio the display shows a huge list of all the various inputs?.. when i watch TV there is a page to add channel favorites, but i don't seem to find this anywhere else. could you share some tips how to set up the internet radio station? thanks!

In NEEO the device type is important for the features you get presented. An AVR in neeo is just for input selection and audio changes. To have your radio features exposed you want to add a new device (actually the same device) but with the TUNER mark, like this:
Add a new device, search for X5200W and also add the Tuner.
you should offcourse keep the AVR and it’s best to keep the AVR hidden.

Niels de Klerk i have added the Denon receiver another time, this time as you suggested as 'tuner'. but i think this 'device' is meant to be a FM tuner? all it does is giving me up or down Tuning buttons.. via the menu in the top right corner there is a 'edit favorites' option and i can add some (by far not all) of my favorite channels however it asks me for a channel no.? unfortunately with Denon, there is not such thing as a channel no. only a continuous list of my favorite channels.. how did you link the icons of those favorites (i.e. Afterhours FM) to the corresponding favorite in your AV receiver?
-
Be sure to have both the AVR and the TUNER added as device.
My receiver’s tuner acts on channel numbers. There is a internet radio list on my receiver that I can edit. Let’s say I set afterhours on number 5, then I start the radio recipe and add a favorite like this <see pictures>
I own a onkyo AVR and I’m not familiar with Denon. If channels can only be accessed via a menu then I’m afraid the Denon doesn’t allow any favorites to be used.

Niels de Klerk hm.. Denon has an overall 'favorite' list where you can set up various different items like a internet radio channel, or a favorite song on the NAS or whatever and on top there is denonradio.com a service linked to vTuner where you can create and maintain a favorite list of all your internet radio channels.. but none of them seem to be triggered correctly.
i did add a few channels like you showed and i get them 'listed' as well but there are nowhere on the frontend. how do i get the icons/channels to be one of the sliding screens? i only have two, one is the up/down tuner and the second is for widgets/shortcuts..

Patrick I now did a factory reset and then set all the devices and receips up anew. now i do see the extra page with the favorite channels (on both, remote and app). however, it's still rather useless for me, as the denon receover doesn't have chanel #, nor does internet stations have frequencies.. looks like the denon 'tuner' device in your database is meant for a traditional FM-Tuner rather than internet radio.. here are some screenshots:
1) this is the internet radio station while running, i cant find anything i could reference the neeo favorite to..
2) my (denon) favorite internet radio stations are just an ongoing list, no numbers or fequencies
3) when setting up a neeo favorite i have to enter a chanel number/frequency which i dont have
(once i choose a random number, i can then see the chanel/logo on the device page but of cause clicking it wont do anything)thanks for any suggestions!

Thanks a lot for giving this another try. We will be exploring what could have been causing the issue that you saw in the first place.
How do you control the favorites with the original remote? Or do you do that with an app?
I think for you to be able to choose these favorites we would have to go ahead and do a fully integrated driver over IP which would no longer use the IR commands to control your device. It would be really nice if you could open up a voting for that driver in the voting section, this way we can get a feeling for the needed priority for that feature.

Nikolaus Zahn , Patrick I've also looked into this. The only function that can be controlled from the remote is the button Online Music which will then display three icons: Favourites, Internet Radio and Media Server. You then need to use the cursor and ok buttons on the remote to navigate to where you want to go, eg Favourites, cursor down, OK to start an internet radio station in your favourite list.
Marantz has an app which uses IP controls and has a much wider function set including direct access to your Favourites and in my case internet radio station. See screenshot below.
So bottom line is that only an IP driver will give us full control over all Marantz/Denon AVR functionality. IR is limited to what's available on the remote.
You have my vote for an IP driver and I believe Bruce Hartley has already made a great start with his Marantz Neeo driver.

You can find the stations on the radiodenon.com , register your device and make a favorite radio list. In de Denon GUI you can go to internet radio => radiodenon.com => your favorite list. You can set an memory preset for each station. For the first 8 stations A1-A8 you can use channel 1..8. For the next stations the numbers starts with B1 till B8 end than C etc. It is not possible to enter B1 in the channellist in the receipe 😡

Hi, I've got a Denon AVR-3808, which has the same "Challenge". Using the tips from the others and the latest one from Klaas, I've managed to get it working... somewhat. The "Digits" however do not work, so you either have to put the TV on to see which channel you're listening or get on your knees and read the display of the Denon. For now, I've got "Preset Radio", followed by "Preset Up" to get me to the second preset; it works, but not very handy..
However I think that we should be able to get more from this device then "just the first 8 favourites in a nasty way. My Denon came with 2 remote controls, a simple button-device and a button/touch-screen device (the main RC).
The main RC has a touch screen with areas labeled "A" till "G" and the physical number buttons 0 - 10. And yes, these buttons can be used to select all favorites (A1-G9).
If we would have these buttons (@Andy) in Neeo, we could "Somehow mimic" Channels" .
I've enclosed @pictures of the main RC. Andy , could we get these (A-G and 0-10) buttons in ? Perhaps 1-10 are "shifted functions" one you hit A-G?? "1" being the same as "Input IPOD"?

Yes, I've got both the AVR as amplifier and as Tuner. And I've been trying to add the presets as steps under the AVR-3808 Tuner-device.
But many commands don't work on the 3808 and the ones I'm suggesting aren't there (nor in the NEEO-AVR command set).
Just compare the "Main remote" [picture that I';ve sent with what's in the database for 3808 AVR and Tuner.
