Samsung eu50es6715

Hi. The keys on my remote are not sending the correct commands to my tv.

only channel up and down seams to be working. One button turned on the tv-guide, think it was the back button.

    Many thanks for reporting this!

Can you report a little bit more in detail which button does what?

Up until now, all Samsung TVs have the same driver. And these TVs are working fine for other users.

Also, is this occurring in the app, too?

Thanks for clarifying! I'm sure we get this fixed.

  • Hi,

I had to get my remote replaced and now i have spent some time setting everything up.

For my Samsung, it seams that the inputs are working after all. it was me expecting the remote to adjust the volume on the TV just by just pressing the volume up/down. Now i understand that the remote must be, either equipt with that command in all the places, or just have the TV selected.

Is this correctly understood? Or is there a way to tell the remote that when pressing the volume buttons, the signal should ALWAYS go to the receiver? The receiver (my ARV i guess its called?) is connected to my tv with HDMI, using ARC, so i dont think i need to send volume inputs to my TV at all. Damn.. NEEO should do a grapchical picture showing how this stuff is supposed to be connected/work?! I'm doing my best here..

Another remark, the remote's physical button marked "Menu" takes me to the "tv-guide" for the samsung.. Which i am not using at all. I would like the to remap this button to open the "smart-hub" or whatever samsung is calling it, sometimes i use the built-in NETFLIX app.

I have not been able to test the up/down/left/right navigation buttons yet. cant seem to get them to work, but i guess that i just need to spend some time in the system to figure out how it all works. I am totally new to any home automation/macro stuff. I am not saying there is anything wrong in the code/NEEO hardware.

    Thanks!

      Many thanks for your feedback!

The volume step has to be configured for every recipe. But if you wired the AVR to the TV during setup, it should automatically choose the AVR. To manually choose that NEEO should use the AVR, go to the settings menu of the app, navigate to the recipe section and click on the recipe that should use the AVR volume. Choose "Launched". Here you'll have a step that is called "Use Volume". Change this step to the AVR.

Regarding Menu - For all TVs and Set top boxes: Short press opens GUIDE, long press opens MENU.

Cursor - If you go to the recipe like mentioned above, is the a step called "Show TV controls"?

Also, how did you setup your NEEO? Did you go through the initial setup and did wire all devices together? If yes, multiple recipes should have been created that already contain the correct volume and control steps. Or did you create the recipes manually? You can send me screenshots of your recipes. I can check if everything looks right. Thanks!

  • Thanks Andy ! You are a star! I really appreciate your prompt replies!

So, turns out that your questions got to reconfigure a little how my setup is plugged in and i'm getting the response i was looking for now, volume is working perfectly.

This long press feature seams really handy, exactly the feature i was looking for! Awesome work!

    Cursor is performing as expected.

I have to say, what i read on planet neeo when first user experience reports came in, i was a bit.. sceptical... hell i event though about canceling my order! I could not be happier that i kept my faith in this technology and even if you are not at v.1.0 yet, i can already tell that this will be a huge success! I took some time to figure out the whole recepie thing, but now when i have some stuff set up, its a dream. yesterday i just clicked the off button by impulse, and everything went off! i mean, tv, AVR, PS4 and the blueray! and i havent even added the ps4 to devices yet. I'm impressed anyway. I'll be promoting Neeo to friends and family as much as i can!

    Thanks!
