  • Hi, Yellow Sky. Thank you very much for your request. Please note that at the moment we only support B&O via IR. Therefore, it might be that some codes are not available. Could you please provide me with the model number of your B & O device?

Then I'll check that for you. Thanks!

    • Hi @Ingrid  I spoke about IR codes!!!

After reading other Beo articles on your blog, it seems that you are on the bad way.

Almost all BEO devices works with the same codes. (I'm using for example beovison 7 and for the sound BS3000). That's why it is not necessary to ask for the model.

For example the volume control in not good managed. Normally each press should give +1 step but sometimes you get 2 or 3 step. You must not send the code 3 times! Once is enough, and will solve this old problem. Now you did only a "stupid" IR-copy.

You really need the studies how it works.

LIGHT is a command for an IR dimmer LC2 but use also for automation.

But LIGHT and devices commands could be followed by a number or up or down,...

It's a little works but you need to do that otherwise all Beo's lovers will go back to the Beo4!

      Thanks

  • Yellow Sky Thanks for the information. I have forwarded it to the team. They will come back to you as soon as possible.

Remember with  one "driver" BEO4 well done you can remove all the IR BEO devices from the list. And it'll be ok for 95% of the cases.

We are already offering the Beo4 codes in general. But we have devided them between the separate device categories and device models. We cannot simply add all Beo4 codes for all devices.

Please let me know which exact commands are missing. Also let me know what they should trigger. For example, the Ligthcontrol 2 - There you say that NMUSIC is missing. What exactly does NMUSIC execute within a light controlling device? Also, NMUSIC executes different infrared commands, depending on which mode on the Beo4 is chosen. Also, we need to obtain the codes from several different sources. As B&O uses very high frequencies for their IR codes, it's not possible to learn the codes from the original Beo4 remote. Unfortunately our sources are very mixed up and it's very hard to sort them into working drivers. We would really like to correct the B&O drivers. Unfortunately, the naming and multi use of some commands are a bit confusing for non-B&O users. It would be very much appreciated if you could help us with this and let us know the exact missing commands. We already did our best to sort the B&O commands out, let me know what still is wrong.
Am I correct that you are owning the following B&O device:

      - Lightcontrol 2
      - BeoSound 3000
      - BeoVision 7

      Thanks!

    • Hi Andy

I know that your are offering Beo4 code, But a lot of code are missing.

You just make a "stupid" copy from any other universal remote!!! And some code are working but any other are not reliable! That's why the volume control jump sometimes by 2 or 3 instead of 1 step! Some other are not working at the first press on the button.

That maybe why the IR range with those code is really poor. Max 1m !!! For a 360° high power IR brain, it's a little weak!

I never tell you that NMUSIC is for lightcontrol,

I just listed some missing commands:

      - DTV

      - All the LIGHT functions are missing. (full dot!) ;-)

      - NMUSIC

      - NRADIO

      - Full power off (by long press on the BEO4). Hope the see long press on NEO...

You got a good informations here: https://planet.neeo.com/t/k9kg9z

and you can easily found some very good specialist for Beo and Ir decoding (lintronic). Maybe a join venture will be good.

I'm a little severe with you. But your remote control play with the high lever. You can not give only approximate code!

      Thanks

We have found an IR learner that should be capable of recording B&O IR signals. It should arrive next week. We'll learn all codes available on the Beo4 remote. This way, everybody should get all B&O codes they need. I'll keep you updated.

    • Yellow Sky You are correct in that a lot of the B&O codes are "iffy". I have a Beosystem 4 and I have had to modify the start recipes for my devices, a DVR and a Blu-Ray player to send the device input commands twice after a delay. I've also modified the shutdown recipes to send the "Off" command twice as well. This has worked fairly well for me. Within the Device shortcuts screens I have also created shortcuts to the respective Beosystem 4 input commands for when on the now relative rare occasion the start recipe fails to start up the Beosystem 4. It would be nice to have the NEEO B&O commands work as well as they do with the BEO4 remote.

    • Patrick Right the Beo protocol wasn't studied but simply from other remote copied !

Andy  good news! But to be really 100% compatible, I already warn to you that you must support long press for colors and arrows keys... !!!

We where at a store last Friday and tested it. Codes work fine. But still around 1.5 to 3 meter max, depending on the tested device. TVs and BeoLab where working as far as 3 meters, BeoSystem only 1.5 meters. That it doesn't get better is because of the hardware built into NEEO. B&O uses very high frequencies for their IR codes. But the good  news is, we can add all codes. Also, we have talked with their B&O expert to make sure we add all correctly. Even turning the stand for a B&O TV and much more should be possible soon. We'll add all missing commands. This should be done during this week. I'll keep you up to date.

We have corrected around 90% of the B&O devices. We where not yet able to test all of it. Because of this I wanted to wait with releasing the updates instead of failing again. Anyway, I have released the updated data now anyway. It will appear around 6PM CET. Besides correcting most devices, we also have added such drivers as N.Music, N.Radio, etc. as devices. Also, there are now additional generic B&O devices, like TV, RADIO, CD, DVD, etc.
More improvements where done. E.g. the "Stand" commands are now included for TVs. For the light control, we also added scenes and other commands and macros to make automation more easy with NEEO and B&O. Much more was changed. We completely overworked our drivers and devices and worked closely with B&O resellers.

As we had to attach new drivers for a lot of the B&O devices I would recommend to delete and re-add the devices instead of just updating them. Also, as said, we where not able yet to test everything. Let me know if you still find any issues. Thanks!

    • Andy Thanks for the update. My recipes are filled with B&O commands. I don't intend to update till you have completed the updates as removing devices then re adding them isn't something I want to do repeatedly. Please let us know when you are finished.

      Thanks

  • Hi,

Is it possible to add a Light command with a key?

Standby long press would be nice too.

Simply add our B&O light control device. All commands can be added to any recipe via shortcut screen from then on. Unfortunately, IR controlled lights do not create any recipe or screens at the moment. All needs to be added manually.
