Hisense TVs (Discrete IR Codes attached)

Received my NEEO today and first thing to set up it my Hisense 55M7000 Smart TV... but according to NEEO it's a Stupid Device! I can basically turn it on and change volume... switching inputs or opening the menu seems to be beyond it's abilities though :(

My AppleTV 4 has the ability to turn the TV on and off through HDMI-CEC, is this a possibility for me to use CEC control for the TV with NEEO?

  • William Joyce The HDMI-CEC will come with future Updates. The AppleTV is currentyl controled over IR and not over Bluetooth, this will also come in a futur update.

If you willed, try to get in touch with the Manufacturer and ask witch IR Chip is build in and if these chip is capabale of Discrete codes for the Inputs. Or try to google, if someone else has allready found out about these codes. If you find, you can post them here and mention Andy he can implement the codes then.

According to this post over here: https://community.logitech.com/s/feed/0D53100005jEYzLCAW

Somebody from NEEO should contact Hisense, meybe they can provide the Codes Patrick or Emily or Raphael can someone do this?

    Hope this helps!

We are working on CEC, it should come within a future firmware updates. And that's what the people on the other forum did, using CEC.

Anyway, Hisense does not work with discrete commands. Maybe they will do some firmware update for some device and we can get the codes from them. But right now, we cannot do anything about it. Sorry!

We are right now done with adding all the commands. We decided that a Live IR is not necessary and already added them to the driver. The new data will appear around 7PM CET. Please update your device. Thanks!

    • Andy that’s absolutely flippin’ marvellous! Power On and Power Off work a treat and am able to select specific Inputs instead of manually scrolling and selecting correct input from a list! :D

  • Hi guys,

Power On/of still doesn’t seem to work with my Hisense LTDN57...something..700.

I assume the device add test button page also uses Power toggle?

shoikd I use the generic Hisense profile instead?

Please try to find out the exact model number and I'll check this for you. There are some model series that use a completely different driver where the discrete commands where not added. Thanks!

Can you send me a screenshot of your recipe steps? It could be that your TV doesn't support the discrete commands. But both devices are from the same series. It should work for both of you.

No need for that. That's all info I need. I just wanted to make sure that you are not using another devices from another series. But if you use the M7000-series model, the discrete commands should work for the model of Jamie, too.

      Thanks!

All looks fine in your recipe and the model is correct. It's very strange that the discrete commands don't work for a device of the same series. But I'm afraid we have to accept that it is this way. Hisense didn't have discrete commands for a long time at all. Could there be a software update on your TV that loads a new firmware that allows to use discrete commands?

On which firmware versions are you on the TV? Not on the NEEO side, actually on the TV.

    • Andy whilst searching online to try to find mention of discrete IR codes (and stumbling upon the Hisense USA ones) I emailed Hisense support UK asking and had a reply on 14/11/2017 stating;

“Currently we do not have a list of IR codes available.

We are in the final stages of collating the information and should have it available soon.”

I’ll chase them up on this again to see if they have what they believe the UK codes to be (if different to USA site ones).

Thanks! I think this is the issue. William has the 524 firmware, you have the 110. I'm guessing that the 524 is capable of understanding discrete commands, the 110 not. Sometimes firmware releases are not forwarded to device at the same time. All we can hope for is that you'll soon get the newer firmware.

    • Jamie Moore Andy FYI my TV was on the H0110 firmware when bought it... upgraded to H0524 before NEEO arrived though so couldn’t tell you if the update enabled the discrete IR codes or not. H0110 seems to be latest version for 65” currently though. Hopefully the January firmware updates mentioned to me by Hisense will apply to both 55 and 65” M7000 models! Fingers crossed!

  • Just an update for you, I've been able to sort this issue I was having  by downloading the latest firmware from the Hisense Germany website, after researching the AV Forum owner thread for H55/65M7000 I found that there are a few outstanding issues in general with this model and that the the European firmwares are the latest that work, this was also confirmed by Hisense UK.

  • Jamie Moore I’ve seen posts on the AVForums M7000 Owners thread posting about OTA firmware updates for both 55 and 65 now available although currently looking like update only appears if on H0110. I’ll give mine a couple days to hopefully pick it up now have re-enabled auto-updates, if not will update manually and check IR commands still work and also get back in touch with Hisense UK to send on the IR commands they’ve supposedly documented!

      Christian Heiss

      I'm sorry to hear!

I'm assuming that you use the TV as a standalone device, correct? I'm asking, because if you have e.g. wired the TV to a Blu-ray player or any other source device on NEEO and start such a recipe, you'll have the buttons of the Blu-ray player mapped to MENU etc. Only "Volume" and "Power" is then controlled from the TV. If you just want to control the TV only, you'll have to start the recipe that is called TV. There, all TV buttons should be mapped to the hard buttons. I'm assuming that all of this is already correctly set up and clear to you. If not, let me know. If you are not sure, you can send me screenshots of the recipe steps and I'll check if everything is ok.

MENU - Can you please try to add the menu button to the shortcut screen and test if it works from there? Also, for all TVs and set top boxes - short press on MENU hard button opens GUIDE. Long press opens MENU.

Inputs - Generally, Hisense TVs did not support discrete input commands for a long time. Since a while, they have shipped out a new firmware update for some TVs that allows to use discrete input commands. Also, some newer TVs are able to switch inputs discretely. But there are still many Hisense TVs that are not capable of this. Can you please check on the Hisense TV if there is a firmware update? If not, I'm afraid we have to remove the inputs for your TV. This will then allow to switch the inputs manually on NEEO. Devices not capable of switching inputs discretely are not very suitable for automation. Also in this case, I'm assuming that you have done the setup correctly and the TV is wired to another device via NEEO app. Otherwise, if the TV is used stand alone, no inputs will be sent. If wired, inputs will be sent, but MENU button etc will be mapped to the source device, and not the TV.

  • Hello to everyone contributing in this forum, you appear to be the only ones who have the faintest idea of the Hisense/Harmony issues.

I've just received my Harmony Elite. Figured this was going to be easy i'm running through the setup wizard in my app and added my Hisense LTDN65K700XWTSEU3D. I can't even get the wizard to turn on/off the TV. TV firmware is V00.01.00a.H0724.

Can any one of you guys help me here. I'm desparate!

    Thanks a lot.
