  • Jeff via CEC or IR?  My 3.1 bar is not working via IR.

Matt B Hello! This device is controlled via IR. Can you confirm the NEEO Brain is in direct line of sight of this device? For testing purposes can you hold the brain right in front of this device and see if you can control the volume?

      Thanks!

  • Jeff  I think I discovered the issue. The Soundbar (JBL bar 3.1)  has no means currently to directly select the appropriate input. Even though the options are there when you select a recipe. The input must be toggled through 5-6 options. Does not make for good automation.  anyone using this for HDMI switch input and automation should find another answer. Luckily I have enough inputs on the TV so as to not having to buy an HDMI switch.

Matt B So this device is added as a speaker. You will have to manually go into your recipes and add the functions and inputs of this device.

Open the NEEO app > tap on settings > tap on recipes > tap on a recipe that uses your JBL 3.1 and tap on 'Edit launch'. Assuming the device has already been added > tap on use vol and select the JBL. Tap on add a step and add all the steps necessary (power on and input commands) to make it work. Notice that all power commands are before the smart delay. Be sure to move the JBL's power command before the delay and input commands after the delay.

Let me know if these steps help. Repeat these steps for all recipes that utilize this soundbar.

      Thanks!

  • Doesn’t work. Commands are there. They are pointless as they don’t function. Soundbar doesn’t accept inputs like that.

Matt B So how does this soundbar work?

  • As a dumb ARC speaker device. I can’t use the built in HDMI switch because neeo cant control it.   NEEO will however so volume and mute functions

    • Matt B Jeff If i understand it correctly, the codes for direct input switching doesn't work, but the Soundbar itself (Volume and Mute) can be controlled via NEEO, this means:

      a) there is something wrong with the implemented Source IR Codes

      b) the codes are correct, but the soundbar doesn't understand them (updated firmware or something like that)

Maybe Andy or Fäbu can check it in the Database?

Matt B Hi Matt, hope all is well. I wanted to circle back on this. I was speaking with my colleague about your issue and have a couple questions for you.

Does your soundbar have automatic switching for the inputs? If so, can you ensure it is off? If it's off, try to turn it on this may help with what you're experiencing. If your soundbar supports CEC, let's turn that off if it's not already off.

      Thanks,
