Yamaha RX-V773

Hi,

I have used the NEEO system for a couple of days now and there is one thing i'm missing.
I have renamed my inputs on my Yamaha RX-V733. This makes it really hard to set up an recepie since on my neeo remote/app i'm given the input number e.g HDMI 1.. In the real world that input is PS4. So when i try do make a recepie, i have to know what input i'm using to match it with what macro i want to perform.. which makes it really hard to configure a stream of inputs when i have no idea there input "TV", "ps4", "Xbox", "Nintendo", "HTPC", "LP", "Projector" etc.. is connected to my Yamaha :(

Is there a way to also let neeo know the names for my inputs?

Yamaha has an OK app to their system that handles these things, any chance NEEO can piggy back ride on this some how?

Thanks!

Oskar

  • Hello Oskar Haldemar thank you for your feedback. For the moment we can rename devices on the NEEO App.

For this customization feature request, you can find a voting link here. This will let us know the priority for future firmware releases.

I will mark this thread as solved. Thank you for your understanding,

  • Hi Emily . Thank, i have renamed everything now..pew..
however, I cant seem to get my neeo remote to use the navigation buttons to control the receiver. If i unhidden the devide (yamaha rx-v773) and click on it from my neeo remote, i cant use it to open the menu and use the navigation keys..

even if i have everthing in line of sight with neeo IR eye right in of the receiver.

it seams that the remote just arent sending any commands to the receiver.

any ideas on what to do?

BTW, they work fine for the navigation on my Samsung TV.

    Thanks

This was just fixed! The new data appears around 7PM CET. Please update your device according to this guide. Thanks!

  • Hi Andy

Thanks for the update. I know can see that “widgets” with controls for navigation and more is available, awesome!

however, if I click my unhidden AVR, and the NEEO remote performers the recopie, I assume that the physical buttons are now mapped to work for the AVR? However, the menu button still is not bringing up the “on-screen” menu for my AVR..

i still have issue to figure out how I should switch between devices.

lets say I want to open the “Samsung hub” on my Samsung tv, I click the “tv” recipe, wait for everything to be ready and on and long press the menu button. Now if I want to open the on screen menu for my AVR, I have to (on the remote) click “home” to come back to my devices, click the AVR (it runs the recipe - (is there a way not to this?)) when ready, I click the menu button and nothing happens..

Anyway, if now want to change channel, I need to click home again and select tv (runs recipe, annoying because I’m already watching tv) and then I can use the controls as “tv remote” again.

i don’t know how to better explain.. I’ll try to do a video or something to better show my experience.

unless you feel it’s not necessary.

    Thanks!

I was not aware that there was a wrong command in MENU. If have added the on screen menu there now. The way you explained it is one way to do it, yes. But I would recommend to not to use the un-hided AVR for such a situation. If you need to fully use the AVR for a longer time, e.g. when you are setting up your speakers or such, use the recipe. But if it is about a few couple of commands you need, add them as widgets and shortcuts to the Samsung TV recipe. At home I have for example added a couple of MODE commands and the cursor widget from the AVR. That's enough for daily use, the AVR recipe is never active.

      Hope this helps!
