Is there a way to edit a recipes without the recipe being active

I would like to add shortcuts and tv stations to a recipe. Is it always necessary to start the recipe for editing, what I think is pretty badly solved? With other solutions, I can normally edit something while someone else is able to use the remote control.

  • Fonzo You can browse to the Menu via the App, open up the recipe you like to edit and then you can choose if you like to edit the launche or the power off of the recipe. This can be done with every recipe regardless if you have it started or not.

Although I can change the start and end sequence with the described way, I can not find a way to add stations and also not to add any shortcuts. Is this only possible with an activated recipe which is quite unsatisfactory

    • Fonzo on the official way, yes this is only possible currently when an recipe is active. there are ways to do it unofficially, but with that you also can "brick" the Brain operation.

The Brain is allways pushed and pulled with "simple" Post and get solution via the Network API there is some basic documentation done by Niels de Klerk over here: https://planet.neeo.com/t/x1trmk/api-examples-to-get-started

Hi can you describe the unofficially way to do this to add channels without the recipe beeing active. I had a look at the topic with the API examples and I use this way to get information from the NEEO or to control the brain from external sources. But unfortunately I havent found a way to add channels to a recipe without activating the recipe.

That would be a lot easier, because you could do an automatic configuration from an external source without the user having to add channels one by one.

What do you suggest to solve the problem? Since there is no documentation for NEEO, the only way would to sniff every command that the app sends to the brian in case of a configuration. However, the recipe is active in the app to edit the channels. Is there any experience if it is possible to send the API command to add a channel without the recipe active?
