Sky+HD 2Tb box

I’m in the UK and new to Neeo. Got devices  working and now tweaking, but I can’t see how to press the record button  for Sky+HD and find a keyboard to be able to do a search to find programs on catch up etc.

Hi  Jez Thorpe Welcome to the NEEO family :).

Sounds like you simply need to add shortcuts to your recipes. Shortcuts are the "other buttons" on any device's OEM remote.

    https://support.neeo.com/hc/en-us/articles/115005643289-Adding-Shortcuts-to-Recipes

Let me know if you need further assistance with this :).

  • Thanks Jeff,

Ran the recepie for Satellite, unlike the example in picture 2, my screen doesn't have the 3 white lines.

It just tells me favourites can be add from the app.  See attached.

    cheers Jez.

  • Hi Jeff,

o.k. Found it and added short cuts, but leaves some questions.

    1) .I've found the numeric shortcuts, but how do .I bring up alphanumeric characters?, so .I can input the name of the program I want to find?

    2) looking at the original menus,  the first screen is the one .I use the most, play, stop, rewind etc, but how to I add the record shortcut to this first menu rather than scroll to a different screen?

    Cheers, Jez.

Jez Thorpe When adding favorite channels you do it by manually inputting the channel to the selected channels logo via the app. There is no need to search by name. NEEO does not do this because your cable box does not either. If you want to search by actual channel name you have to go into your set-top box's exact search function. Press and hold the menu button on the NEEO Remote, and this will trigger the menu to come up. Let me know if this is what you're referring to so we're on the same page :).

      Thanks!

  • Hi .Jeff,

The reason why I need access to a alphanumeric keyboard is that if you are looking for programs to watch on Sky 'catch-up' you need press 'search' and enter the program name .

    Cheers, Jez.

  • Jez Thorpe  To search on Sky you need to add the Search Button Shortcut, once you have done this it will take you sky's search page. This page has an alphabet that you scroll up and down on, this completely solved the issue for myself.

Reboot found devices, but even though its set up it doesn’t respond to the controls.

I used the sky 2TB remote during setup

How can I reset and check the remote commands

  • Hi James,  yes installed it, but it doesn rewoond to the remote.

Hiowever, I think it part of an issue as I added a Rako ravir and a Zappiti and they don’t respond to the remote.

I can’t find a way of testing to see what is wrong

Jez Thorpe Can you please place the NEEO Brain right next to these devices? Also, have you removed the plastic film from the top of the brain? Can you post or DM a photo of where your NEEO Brain is loctated compared to these devices?

Please note that the NEEO Brain emits IR and not the actual remote.

      Thanks!

  • Hi jeff

system is in our cinema. The brain sits on top of the rack with the extender sitting inside the rack

The brain works the ceiling mounted projector and the extender works the amp and bluray player.  The 2 sky HD  box’s  are in the server rack in the top of the house. its run through a HDAnywhere system and is controlled through a magic eye that sits next to the extender

    All these work fine

the Zappiti 4K player is also in the rack, but doesn’t respond to the remote.

The Rako Ravir is sitting on top of the rack next to the brain. This flashes when I press the light switch, but does nothing when I use ‘test’ from the receipe.

as the current sky box doesn’t have a search facility I’ve then added another device using Sky Q 2Tb HD.   In essence this is the sam physical syk box Connected to the same input on the amp as the original sky box and using the magic eye. My though here is I can switch between the 2 devices and when I get the new one working I can delete the old one.

    Hope this makes sence,  Jez

Jez Thorpe Based on the photos you posted, its a clear line of sight issue. You have the IR extender all the way at the bottom of the rack. Not too sure where the NEEO Brain is, but you need another IR extender to help. I suggest getting your hands on a 3.5mm jack splitter and another 3.5 jack IR extender. Connect them to the back of the NEEO Brain and strategically place them on your IR devices that are not working with NEEO. We have plenty of customers who have the Zapitti and it works with their NEEO.

I am not familiar with the Sky box but seems as if  James Trumper gave you the correct information and which device to actually add.

      Thanks!

  • Jez Thorpe where did you buy the HDANYWHERE and NEEO from?

  • Hi Jeff, the brain is sitting on top of the AV rack.  Which is why the ceiling projector works fine.

Can't be a line of sight for the Rako  Ravir as it's physically touching the brain.

Not sure if the Zappiti is line of sight as the Blueray player is above it in the rack and that works, but it's more important to get the Rako and Sky box working.

The new Sky box has it's its magic eye next to the extender, so that's not a line of sight issue.

    James, HDAnywhere was from YOU!!!

    Cheers,  Jez.

  • Jeff, if you look at the first picture uou can see the brain and the remote dock on top lf the rack.  The blue device Next to the brain is the Rako Ravir. They are touching each other, so it can’t be a  sight problem?

    Any other ideas?

    cheers, Jez

Jez Thorpe I say you place the NEEO Brain directly in front of these devices to see if that makes a difference. That will be the best way to test. Let's not assume the IR is hitting the devices. I have seen the brain work from 10ft away and not work from a few feet. Keep in mind that there are a few factors that can affect IR light.

      Thanks,

      Jeff  Hi Jeff,

still struggling to set up the new devices.  Looking at your last post I placed the brain in front of the Rako Ravir.  See picture.

Then I setup the device.  Ran through the setup pressing the buttons as requested.  Each time I pressed a button on the light switch the light flashed on the Rako Ravir, so I know the light switch and the Rqko Ravir are talking..

Then I edit my recipe to add the new device, but when I press ‘test’ to turn off the lights, nothing happens.  Led doesn’t flash on the Rako Ravir and light stay on.

Is there anyway of checking what the commands the brain holds or manually sending an

      I.R code?

      Regards Jez.

Jez Thorpe Hi Jez, are you referring to the recipe? Open the NEEO app > tap on settings > tap on Recipes > select the recipe in questions > tap on 'Edit launch' > here you will be able to change inputs for your Tv or any other device that requires switching. Let me know if this was what you were referring to :).

      Thanks!

  • Thanks Jeff,  I’ll try that later, but moving back to the Sky box. I set it up as an Italian device as its the one I found that was closest. This works fine using a magic eye at the bottom of the rack.

James suggested a different device that would add the search facility,  so I added a new device on Hdmi1 input. My thought process was to use the extising cables and magic eye and physical box.  Switching between the two while testing  when I was happy I’d delete the original device.

So the original device works as before (minus search), but if I swifch to the new device.  Nothing

I’m wondering if the problem is set up of new devices isn’t working, nothing to with line of sight?

    Happy Christmas to everybody

    Jez.

Jez Thorpe Thank you for your feedback. I have reached out to  Andy so he can look into the drivers for the set-top box you added. You mentioned it was the Italian one or something closest to it. Can you confirm the actual make and model of the device you added in NEEO?

      Jez Thorpe

Thanks! We have four versions of this box, but no Italian version.

We are supporting the following models:

      DRX895 (v.1)
      DRX895 (v.2)
      DRX895-C
      DRX895W-C

Does none of these work? There are three different drivers attached. Let me know!
