  • Hi, Michael Sørensen I moved your post to a new topic.

In regards to your set-top box, this device does not have discrete power commands so its a not so smart device. If this device supports CEC, it needs to have an HDMI 1.3 or higher cable plugged into the NEEO Brain and to your Tv to use NEEOs device smartner feature. If your device does not support CEC you can use the assumption mode which does not require the HDMI 1.3 or higher cable to be plugged in.

    Thanks!

    • Jeff It does support cec, but shouldn't it be possible to use it without hdmi in my brain-tv?

    • Michael Sørensen Depends if the box can be controlled by IR.  If it can, try the assumption mode. There seem to be 2 options to enable this:

      • Assumption Mode: Open the NEEO App, then navigate to the settings on the top right and open “Device”. Then tap on the "not-so-smart” device and choose “Change power mode”, just follow the screen and choose “Assumption Mode”. Your recipes will automatically be adjusted.
      • Re-add the device and the NEEO setup will guide you through the process.

Michael Sørensen CEC is only possible when you have an HDMI cable plugged into the NEEO Brain and into an open HDMI input on your Tv or AVR. CEC is a network that only works when its plugged in and its not wireless.

    • Jeff Looking for clarification.  If a device is labelled as CEC controllable in your database, assumption mode is not an available option?

Dave H You will be able to apply the assumption to any non-smart device. Let me know if you have any other questions :).

      Thanks!
