Is anyone developing an IP control driver for Kaleidescape?

All I can say is that Ian Silverthorne should post the features they are looking for in the hopes that they may or may not be included in an IP driver. I would also suggest that such a driver would have a UI similar to that of Niels de Klerk KODI driver...

Tim Roberts I like the sound of your post. The main point of an IP driver is to not have to rely on the IR commands and associated issues. But a couple of things I would like to see are:
1. Ability to use the channel buttons as full page up or down controls on the cover and list views
2. Give me a menu button that sends me to the menu system and a back button that sends me back one level to whatever I was doing no matter where I was in the interface.

Ian Silverthorne No matter what kind of system you are developing something, you usually need a test environment and the hardware to be able to understand how it works and to test it under real conditions. Here is the problem with Kaleidescape, it is a professional system that also has its price, so imho you will only buy a test environment and develop something if you are able to compansate the invest in the test enviroment. So you need to earn money, in this case NEEO itself would be the developer of choice. Or there is just a user who already owns such a system and is capable of developing something like that.

Ian Silverthorne Is there a documented API for the kaleidescape device? Is something like Plex an alternative? What are the differences from the kaleidescape server to Plex?

If you read the control documentation, you'll see that 3 of those are possible. Unless you see something I don't, doing a "back" type of action is not possible.

Do you use the music off the Kaleidescape by any chance? Was thinking about adding the music player since I have the API that would allow that. Was there anything else you could think of that would be nice to have?

Tim Roberts I personally dont but i know anlot of people who do. You should incoude it if you can. Just make sure you have the option to control the onscreen display with the navigation cross and dont limit control to the screen of the remote only.
