Sky+HD 2Tb Box

Received my Neeo today in the UK. Great but is useless at the moment as doesn't seem to have Sky remote codes.

I have a Sky+HD 2Tb box and the remote control says it is SkyHD rev.9F and the box is a DRX895W-C.

Please add this or point me to a device that will at least give basic control.

Thanks.

  • I have similar issue with my Sky+HD 1TB box (DRX895-C)... neither of the DRX895 devices in NEEO database will control it at all!

  • I have the DRX890-R Sky HD box and the DRX890C v55 driver mostly works. However the cursor up key (both hard and soft versions) seems to be sending a cursor right command (cursor right key works correctly).

    • Tennant I too have noticed the UP doing RIGHT. Otherwise the ‘Sky DRX890C’ is working great for my DRX895-C!

  • A quick Google suggests these might be the codes needed: http://www.remotecentral.com/cgi-bin/codes/sky/sky_satellite_receiver/

Can anyone at neeo confirm if this is sufficient to create a "generic sky hd" device or compare against the other ones already in the database (for example the drx890..)?

NEEO supports only a few of the commands for this AV-processor.

One of the (many) things I mis is the option to choose a (specific) HDMI input. I'll get the message 'Your Audio is a stupid device and needs a little help. Select the correct input manually.'

As far as I know is the SP3 not a stupid device and what's more: if I had al commands for the SP3 available in NEEO I could write a recipe with which I could choose the right input.

  • Is there anyway to tag someone from neeo?  On other posts they have responded. Sky boxes should have been high up on the list. This is like owning a Ferrari but the garage forgot to give you the keys. At least it looks pretty.

  • Just this minute had a response saying it has been added and will appear at 7PM CET. When I work out what time zone that is I am going to be really happy.

Thanks Neeo for the quick work.

Did you ever see this appear? I haven't seen an update for the current Sky DRX890C driver of any new Sky HD box drivers become available?

Tennant No, never saw any update and the version number for the DRX890 is the same as before.

This device is already in our database. Of DRX890C doesn't come up, the same device is also added as Samsung SkyHD.

    • Andy This info is misleading and incorrect. Samsung do not make the DRX890C. It's Amstrad. Only the italian version of the Amstrad Sky box is available on NEEO.

Thanks for bringing this to our attention! Where you able to find a working driver with NEEO?

  • Unfortunately no. None of the sky units you have in the database work with UK models

I'm sorry to hear! Can you please test again the Sky DRX890-C. All Sky versions (Sy Digital, Sky, Sky Italia) that offer the DRX890-C, share the same codes. Also we have now added the Amstrad DRX890C. Hopefully this one works!

    • Andy Thankyou - Its for another site but I am there tomorrow - I will give it a try then and let you know - Fingers crossed. One other thing - Is there any way to tell if a device is being controlled via IP or IR once it has been added? - I know the sky boxes don't do IP control but LG tv's have both options.

By default, all devices that are supporting IR are added as IR. Only devices not IR capable are IP controlled at the moment.

  • No. This remote code does not work.
    Pace sky box TDS850NB using remote URC1670-03R01 / 3RC32C-1092 SkyHD rev.8

This remote control that SKY supplies works with the DRX890C and the PACE.

During setup it also asked if I could plugin a HDMI cable.

This sky box does NOT have CEC control.

What I find frustrating is that I have all the codes in XML format, but when it comes to adding a reasonably popular UK device I simply cannot do anything, and it's a 200 mile round trip only to find out that the codes that you have supplied are wrong, and the existing codes in the database are wrong.

This particular install is a trial for a possible purchase of 13 units to go in a hotel.

I'm very sorry to hear and I fully understand your frustration.

CEC - If the device doesn't have CEC, simply skip it and choose "Assumption mode".

So, you have tested the Sky DRX890-C AND the Amstrad DRX890C, correct? Also, this time you have mentioned that it is a Pace sky box TDS850NB. Is it a Amstrad, a Pace? Is it the DRX890C or the TDS850NB?

Also, if you have the IR codes as XML file, you can send me these. We should be able to add them this way.

Let me know. If you are still on site, I can quickly send you a Live IR Test.

      Thanks!

  • I also would like to request that this has NOT been SOLVED as it says on this thread.

Why would you mark this as solved? Infuriating.

Glad to hear! So, all is fine now.
I'm afraid we had some misunderstanding here anyway, I'm sorry for this. You did request adding the Amstrad DRX890C 2 days ago. We have added it and I've asked you to use this device yesterday already. I'm sorry if I was not clear enough!

Anyway, glad it works now! Don't hesitate to contact me when you have another issue. Just make sure to put @Andy into the post. Thanks!
