Adding device to recipe menu

When I create a recipe for a new device and f.e. a AVR is involved this device is shown in the recipe menu with power and chanel buttons. I like to add my AVR to the TV recipe menu in the same manner. Is this possible? I can likely use virtual buttons, but from a UI perspective it makes sense to have the power on / off possibilities at same place in every recipe.

  • Sven Wiese-Solty Hi, thank you for your request. I am not sure if I understood you correctly. If I got that right, you are looking for a second control pad in one recipe for further devices instead of the shortcuts?

    • Ingrid No. If you have a recipe with a more complex scenario, different devices involved, you have the devices listet in the recipe menu (to correct on/off or channel settings). I like to see an additional device there. Let's say you have an AVR with your TV, but don't want to use always, but sometimes. It would be handy to switch this device on or off in this menu.

In that case, I would suggest just adding the shortcut Power ON/ POWER OFF from your AVR to your TV shortcut screen. You can also add widgets, to get, for example, the control pad of your AVR.

You could also adjust the TV recipe and add POWER ON AVR and then add the shortcut POWER OFF AVR and also POWER ON AVR to your shortcut screen. In that way, the AVR will turn on automatically together with your TV and you have the possibility to turn the AVR off while you are watching TV.

You can also read more about shortcuts here

    • Ingrid Thx for the tipps. I saw how to deal with shortcuts and virtual buttons. It's more about consistence in the UI. When configuring in the way you suggest you will have some recipes you have to toogle power in the shortcut area, sometimes from the menu.
