Harman Kardon AVR 1700 Power Off Hack
I'm not sure that this is really a function of the NEEO, as my old Logitech Harmony remote had the same issue. Macros/recipes to turn off devices won't power off the Harman Kardon AVR 1700 (an otherwise nice, affordable digital receiver). So, shortly after the TV screen turns off, the sound keeps on playing.
However, the ease of editing recipes for the NEEO makes it an easy solution:
- On the phone app, tap the menu icon and select Recipes.
- Select a recipe that has a 'off' addition (typically the automatically added ones). For example, TiVo in my case.
- On the pop-up menu, tap Powered off.
- At the end of your recipe, add two new commands after the Send "power off" to "AV Receiver": Send "power on" to AVR and again Send "power off" to AVR.
Yes, that's right: You'll send Power Off, Power On, Power Off. The first don't really do anything, other than perhaps clear any something on the AVR.
