Apple TV 4 not turning off

I have a minor issue with the Apple TV 4 control: While I can turn on the Apple TV without any issues, I'm not able to turn off the Apple TV with my NEEO remote.

Is anybody else having the same issue?

  • Hello James C. Summers - You can follow a similar thread here.

The Apple TV has no real "power off" command. It only has a sleep mode which is accessible through the menu.

If you keep pushing the play button on the original remote the Apple TV switches off, so originally there's no command on the remote to send a "power off". Apple TV enters the sleep mode automatically after the time you defined in its setup. After it all depends on the different Apple TV versions.

Because of this protocol that Apple uses, we can not program this exact behaviour with the NEEO remote. Luckily, the Apple TV turns off after a while. We send a command that exits all running apps to make sure e.g. Netflix doesn't play on after "powering off".

Hopes this helps and sorry that we cannot help further in this case. I will now mark this thread as "closed".

Please let us know if you have any other questions,

    Thank you for your understanding.
